چکیده
BackgroundNon-operative management (NOM) is accepted treatment of splenic injury, but this may fail leading to splenectomy. Splenic artery embolization (SAE) improve rate salvage. The purpose determine the cost-utility addition SAE for high-grade injuries.MethodsA analysis was developed compared NOM in patients with blunt injury. Sensitivity completed account uncertainty. Utility outcome quality-adjusted life years (QALY).ResultsFor grade III, IV and V injury dominant strategy. probability being more cost-effective strategy 87.5% not favored unless failure greater than 70.0%.ConclusionFor III–V injuries, without yields years. most injuries.

Splenic abscess after splenic blunt injury angioembolization.
INTRODUCTION Splenic Angioembolization (SAE), during Nonoperative Management (NOM) of Blunt Splenic Injury (BSI), is an effective therapy for hemodynamically stable patients with grade III, IV, and V OIS splenic injuries. We report a case of a patient with a blunt abdominal trauma due to an accidental fall, who presented splenic abscess a week after SAE and a review of the literature. CASE RE...
متن کاملCommon Bile Duct Transection Associated with High-Grade Splenic Injury
Introduction: Injuries to the common bile duct (CBD) resulting from blunt trauma are exceedingly rare in children, accounting for less than 1% of abdominal trauma. Moreover, this diagnosis is commonly delayed due to distracting intra-abdominal injuries. Case: A 13-year-old girl presented after a motor vehicle collision with a non-operatively managed grade V splenic laceration and an unstable L2...
متن کاملGrade IV blunt splenic injury – the role of proximal angioembolization. A case report and review of literature
The authors present a case of grade IV traumatic spleen rupture (AAST-OIS) and an Injury Severity Score of 21 and a Revised Trauma Score RTS=7.841, which was managed without surgery, but with proximal splenic angioembolization (SAE), with a positive outcome. Indications, types and side-effects of SAE are also discussed with regard to blunt spleen trauma and the benefits of SAE as non-operative ...
متن کاملPage Kidney Secondary to Large Splenic Artery Aneurysm Bleeding and Its Management by Angioembolization
INTRODUCTION The Page kidney is a rare phenomenon that refers to hypertension resulting from any external compression of a kidney by a hematoma, tumor, lymphocele, or urinoma. The activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system is believed to be the main mechanism responsible for development of resistant hypertension in Page kidney. CASE PRESENTATION We reported a patient with chronic ...
